Meditation 8(Summer’s Garden)
The morning garden
is still.
Softly, the growing dawn wakens
bird-song.
The long grasses, flowing - a gentle breeze
blending with roses, hyacinth and lavender;
wind chimes
singing
quietly melodic notes.
The garden center;
a cobalt blue vase fountain,
almost silent ripples of water
cascade over the rim
to mirror-black, smooth, glistening
pebbles. My eyes, steady, fixed,
focus above.
The clear sky, warm air wafting,
this morning yields, peacefully
to the slow heat of day.
Shadows shorten and hide from the sun
while we wait for the coolness of evening
to carry us home.

Life ... this seasonal day ...
carrying inside our sensory being the fleetingness of beauty, yet also the unseen fragrance of a Garden secluded from the eye of now. Ah. That cooling twilight ... bringing with it the soft Hand of balm, the soothing comfort of its sleep. The new Dawn.
I love your work, Richard. It sooths some rawness.

I think I shall keep this with me all day. Thank you for the stroll through your garden. It shimmers in color and light and music, leaving me also in place of peace. I love wind chimes, too, and have always wanted some. There are beautifully handpainted bamboo chimes in a small coastal town near here that are simply mesmerizing to hear.

Feel the Chi....
This gives me the same mellow and quiet sense of inner peace I receive after a Tai Chi class...just from reading!...You are a blessing, Shepherd, and I am happy to dally in this, your meditative garden...the whole day long...(exhaling the tired Chi and inhaling the new Chi)...refreshing write as usual, Richard.
