1st verse:
I only knew what was told to me
Through the eyes of the devil,
I never believed
That my dark world was once pure
And that my thoughts
Were never obscure.
Chorus:
Through the heart, through
The soul of god,
I now find it very odd
That the dark world I live in
Has consumed everyone living.
This is the journey of my lifetime
And it dwells deep in my mind
So many questions to ask,
It’s hard to stay on task.
2nd verse:
The path that I am to follow
Along leads me
To the land of hollow
Trees and now I am lost
I know it shall cost,
For I am lost.
Chorus:
Through the heart, through
The soul of god,
I now find it very odd
That the dark world I live in
Has consumed everyone living.
This is the journey of my lifetime
And it dwells deep in my mind
So many questions to ask,
It’s hard to stay on task.
3rd verse:
Beautiful days and nights
Are gone
As whispers tempt me to
Desert the dawn,
Cries be told, I know what to do,
For I hold the key in my heart
Captive so it won’t be sold.
Chorus:
Through the heart, through
The soul of god,
I now find it very odd
That the dark world I live in
Has consumed everyone living.
This is the journey of my lifetime
And it dwells deep in my mind
So many questions to ask,
It’s hard to stay on task.
4th verse:
Death lingers on the hill,
Yet I run from it,
It says to me ‘Kill’
But I don’t hear it.
I speak lightly
As I escape to the earth,
Knowing outrightly
That my worth
Is free to own
And I worship god,
I am not alone,
And that it not odd.
Chorus: 2x
Through the heart, through
The soul of god,
I now find it very odd
That the dark world I live in
Has consumed everyone living.
This is the journey of my lifetime
And it dwells deep in my mind
So many questions to ask,
It’s hard to stay on task.
Author notes
WARNING : The next few of my pieces are old and written over 3-9 years to go. The language may be grammatically incorrect and the detail and style may be off. I just want you all to see the difference between my writing then and now. Feel free to tell me your opinion. It is gladly appreciated. Also, many of these pieces are of Christian origin, and though they might sound strictly textbook, I do not share those beliefs anymore. Actually, I am atheist, but that is besides the point and the pieces will not be changed because I am still proud of them nonetheless and refuse to disrupt the essence that was clearly integrated into it from the beginning. Thank you for reading my work and I hope you get the deeper meaning of it and come back for more.
