Spying eyes see what they do not understand
Trying to know me without really knowing me
Passing judgement because I don't fit in
This is my fate
My curse for being different
An outsider so to speak
But what is being different?
So I don't think like you
Don't want to be like you
Is this so wrong?
Why should you care?
Does it bother you that much?
To see someone that does not wish to conform
Why is this such a big deal to you?
I am myself no one else
I like who I am
So I don't dress like you think all should
And I don't play the kind of music that you think is good
Do I scare you?
When I turn up what you call white music
Do you think I am going to kill you after I hear it
Have you really heard some of the songs that are out now?
Things that are far worse than what you hate
People calling women bitch's
Calling themselves pimps
Like that is a good thing
Something to be proud of
You say I act white?
And tell me what is that?
Do you even know?
You actually asked me to curse one day
Telling me you are going to turn me black
Do you know how stupid you sound when you talk like that?
I wish you would love me for me
Let me be free and take me for what I am
But you don't want to change so I don't care anymore
I am me no one else
I don't try to be what I am not
And I wont start for the likes of you

Well Done
Well done, Robin, I really liked this poem. It is so true, people try to change people all the time. Don't let him change you, dear... stay like you are...be yourself...Dee
