The dams were strong, built solid,
then came the hurricane called "YOU"
You came in quickly, I unsuspecting
leaving your mark, a vivid memory.
Your destruction intense, unrepairable,
left sitting among the ruins of myself.
In a moments silence tears are shed,
releasing the love that once lived.
The minds images begin crumbling,
the dams heart weaken, no longer strong.
The river of torment becomes vicious,
demise evident, among rivers release.
Every memory tearing at the shore,
till it can no longer withstand the rage.
The bath of the blood sea thrashing,
until wrist dams crumble and collapse.
The Wrist Rivers flow ever so freely,
as the warmth merges with the cold sea.
Life and death united, no longer at odds,
destruction left nothing behind, not even me.

An intense poem filled with strong and powerful imagery. Although it's very sad you have created something amazing.

Brilliant metaphor. I've never seen suicide done so subtly, you almost don't even realize it (and I'll feel really really stupid if I'm completely wrong).
The destruction that the pain leaves behind is so clear and evident, the emotions really come through. It's amazing that one person can have had us love and feel so much that it comes down to devastation when that love is taken away, regardless of how the loss occurred. Such intense grief and mourning that we can't bring ourselves to fight and live through it. It's just an amazing concept.
Did I already say you have a way with words? Yeah, I'm sure I did...but you know...when it's true, it just is
Love this!

it's quite interesting. I found it hard to get into the rhythm, but the word usage was wonderful, and the imagery spectacular. Thank you for entering my contest!
