It was the dry mouth
that opened and closed
over
and
over
that told me I was empty.
Devoid of feeling
numb to the point of purple
I could surface~
can't we all
just for a breath
a glimmer
of hope?
But why?
When around us
people fall
like fat bruised cherries
pits ripped out
the softness
squashed
trampled underfoot
The only thing
better/worse
is ignorance.

ahh at first I couldn't see what you meant.. then I realized it was because I didn't explain the depth.. that quote hit home for me simply because I want nothing. I feel as the poem said empty?
It is so hard to explain the emotions of the heart/soul. More so when you think that the world is numb to the point of recklessness?
Anyhow Thank you so much for the bronze and I am glad you enjoyed my write..
