Love is not patient,
love is not kind
I have a certain family
situation in mind
All day I work hard,
as though a slave
Chasing my kids
yelling 'BEHAVE'
And then with a slam, a very loud din
I'm alerted my husband has just come in
With the words 'cook for me,' when barely he's home
Or 'a little sustenance, Rhazzie?'
making me groan.
I love my husband, don't get me wrong
But sometimes it feels like he doesn't belong
He bores, he ignores and is always in the way
Its frustrating, he's oblivious to our routine day to day.
So here I sit, not patient, not kind
I have many an argument stored in my mind
But as I sit and reflect
I've seemed to neglect
at the end of a long day
next to my husband I lay
And think: 'God bless my little family,
My dear husband....and me.'
So that is the story
Not meant to bore thee
But just to say
love is a chore,
learned and practiced, each day.
Author notes
Inspired by the quote, not the usual take on it though. Written from the perspective of 'a' mother. Not mine, *cough, cough*

Thank you cali951! You're my first comment. I think that people foget that we are all human and not quite capable of perfect love, but we can always try.
