Hanging up the phone
after another lie,
she avoids meeting
the soul mate
found weeks ago
in cyberspace.
Veil
kept over her face
hiding the scars
from failed plastic surgery.
Unable control her heart,
fearing
he would never accept
her hideousness.
Unaware
his calls came
from a burn victim's
bed.
