AND KNOWS IT.
---
I can't glue a plus to a lonely "A"
or rewrite my life story --
I'm never there to sieze the day,
and my nights are bereft of glory.
A hundred hips and willing lips
were frozen in my future;
a thousand offerings woven in
a stitch, a useless suture.
I made a pact with pleasure,
who in a six-day war
had hand-crafted my treasure
and let it hit the floor.
Freshly plucked from an ego trip,
piecing back a shattered school --
I was failure's sinking sister ship
where achievement was the rule.
Author notes
((teen idol 5; i am so eliminated))
Yay, I did rhyme this time!
It may seem a little too loosely interpreted as far as the prompt goes.
However, I read between the lines a little: I saw the prompt as something like "pitfalls in the past, and no opportunity can fix them now." I wrote about this. The "vase" imagery is alluded to gently in the last two stanzas.

Another semi-personal poem, ehehe. About last year's joint valedictorianship with a massively talented person, much more so than I.
Please tell me what you think

Cool, not only can you freeverse, but you can rhyme too.. awesome. Great take on the prompt, best of luck in the contest.
