My Past Loves - a NON-ENTRY

Missing image
MY PAST LOVES - a Non-Entry.

Where did those youthful passions go?
The laughter and the pain,
the joys, the adolescent thrills
that never come again?

What happened to those lovely girls
that I once dared to woo?
Have they all married other men?
Do they remember too?

I loved them once so fervently;
each meant the world to me,
yet feelings were not strong enough
enduring love to be.

And now they are just memories
that slumber in my mind.
When I am gone and think no more,
will they be left behind?

I’d love to hold a meeting where
they all could come together
so I could see them and compare
effects of time and weather.

Those past loves that I once adored
make me feel rather rotten.
Their faces I can still recall -
but names I've quite forgotten!

hehe, I'll bet they have all gotten fat, have double chins, boobs that hang to their waists, and liver spots all over, EXCEPT for one! Now who could that one be? I should send you a photo; that one will be me! LOL
    Love and kisses,
    Shana XOXO

It's all water under the bridge. I'm sure that if you are remembered, they wish you a Happy Valentine too.
I enjoyed seeing this again, thanks for bringing this Non-entry to the contest, it is completely appropriate!

    Dear Hugh,

Somehow I missed this poem first time around.

Passion has its place and time, torrid romance makes a good rhyme, but only true love is really sublime!

I enjoyed your poem. It reminds me of Willie Nelson and Julio Inglesias' song "To All The Girls I Loved Before". It would be interesting if you could visit 'the girls you loved before' and see how they 'measure up' to the lovely memories you have of them.

    Love and hugs,
    Maureen

    Wonderful

Dear Babe, Well, this is one I haven't read before.
Don't forget if you arrange a meeting with them, don't forget to invite Heath and myself along. It would be a very interesting night.
    Love Hine

Dear Hugh, My! You certainly had a few gals after you. It would be interesting to meet all of them again and see how much they've changed. Don't worry, it happens to all of us, we end up with CRAFT. Hmmmm I just looked at my old comment, I said the same thing there.
    Love Bea.

    Dear Uncle Hugh

Is Aunty Edna in this photo? Which one is she? I haven't met her yet. Very nice poem about your "past" loves. You are so sweet and cute Uncle Hugh. I love you.

    Hugs and kisses,
    Your loving niece,
    Petratani

If they look like the photo above...gather them together as fast as you can!

It's an odd combination...beautifully written but a little zany...it's sort of like Yemish humor...but well written, lol.

Like MargoG said, it's charming...I like that word, it fits.

Now post more photos of half-naked chicks...especially like #2 in that photo.

Faces and names of people I haven't seen for decades, nor thought about for years, do not trouble me. This is charming verse Hugh, I enjoyed this meditation.

    You sure do have CRAFT

    Dear Hugh,
How true the memories of past loves remain in our minds, well, some of them do. Some have such an impact on us that their face and name linger. And other's slip from our minds completely. At one stage just before I met Bob I was going out with six different fella's now that was hard, I had to keep a diary of what night I went out with who! Sometimes I slipped up and double dated. But on meeting Bob I dropped the others. I guess I have CRAFT too, coz I can't remember all their names.
A great Sonnet my dear Friend.
    Love Bea

    The memories return

    Dear Hugh,
Yes, I often wonder where all my past loves have gone, and like you I can remember faces but some of the names escape me. HMM There's quite some good lookers there. A beaut Sonnet my friend.
    Love Jen.
