Over-powering the little,
Disguised as an object of compassion.
Temptation in the form of raw emotion.
Courting me with the fancy to feel something.
Hissing in my ear sweet lullabies of past torments.
An evil bookworm at play with my memory filing system.
Deeply imbedded in my emotions it waits,
A simple task can trigger its hunger.
Sending me into fits of madness,
Asphyxiating the last of my will,
Silencing my words.

WOW - this is a powerful poem. Our thoughts can silence our words if we let them take over our will. Great, thought-provoking write.
Congratulations on a well-earned silver trophy!
