There stands the portal
Twixt here and somewhere
'tween known and unknown
Faced by each in their own
Unique vanguards for life's mysteries.
Yet constants there seem
The feeling of loss
A wayward transgression unshared
With millions in fact
Despite lonely certainty
Trample we must
'cross life's apparent abyss
Where fall each in turn
With intentions and goals
Little more than sands fit for glass
And who are we then
To register ill will
To find fault with that one
Whose failing it appears
Shared by humanity?

first off, i like the way you decided to start a few lines with poetic words like "twixt, 'tween, 'cross" my favorite line here is "where fall each in turn with intentions and goals little more than sands fit for glass". i like this piece a lot, bu i'm not sure what each stanza means. would you mind explaining? thank you for entering,
