Walls
   ten layers thick
     protect prize possession;

loneliness
   without pain,

a small price to pay.


Abruptly,
   destiny's hammer fell;

ground quaked, 
     crumbling
       guarded fortress,

leaving my heart --
                 vulnerable and exposed.
