I am the mirror of my father
a stolen face-- inherited
from generations past
Unoriginal, his eyes
belonging to the father
before him, now belonging
to me-- intricately designed
to dominate all opposing genes
from lovers past and
discarded, used
An heir to the throne
of misery, required.
I am the mirror of my father
two lives destined to intertwine.
Punishment the same
on both accounts, resentment.
Unoriginal, my desire
belonging to the person
I am destined to become
Chained to my own self-worth
my mouth speaks the same lies
lacking the will to change
Passion breaks its way
past the skin, love of flesh.
Conceit burns from within our eyes:
unoriginal, inherited.
Deceit flows within our veins:
passed on within each heir
of misery.
I am the mirror of my father
broken inside-- genetic
sentencing: a life of bad luck.
Author notes
mirror mirror
I don't know if this is what you were looking for, but it came to my mind.
I went with the whole thing of a broken mirror is bad luck.
