Tender sorrow as
you left me in my dreams;
alone and yearning.
Thorned petals bite
bitterly into my reverie.
Your breath lingers
upon my lips...
just one more kiss
I wished to steal.
Gently, I will close my eyes
to weep;
I know your love is gone,
forever and always.

It is hard enough to bid farewell knowing still they will return, but to do so knowing no return will follow is even more so. Thank you for entering and good luck!
