"Candice"

Only fifteen, a frail little thing,
being a sex toy for her step father.
also molested by her mother,
no way out, no help in sight.

Beaten by her mother,
tried to run away, but held down.
Shot up with methamphetamines,
enough to kill a horse they said.

She's lying dead on the floor,
her mom and stepdad hiding a meth lab.
They are stepping over her tiny lifeless body,
left there for an hour before cops are called.

Everyone who knew her had turned away,
now they are all at her funeral today.

this is an interesting poem to say the least. very dark and morbid as well. I think though that it was rather... jagged, I couldn't establish a proper flow or beat in my head, and some of the words seemed to be smushed into the line even if they only destroyed the flow further. thank you for entering my contest.

Can I Get A Flash-Light Because This Is Some Dark Poetry!

I find it awful and horrible that anyone should actually go through this. I send hope, to people who feel this way.

Aside from the fact that you have fulfilled the requirements of the contest, to me this is truly dark poetry, In fact this to me is beyond dark. Wow. I feel that this poem is really really coming from an awesome author, such like yourself.

The verses, the vocabulary I find adequate for the contest. If the judge does not find this a winner, the judge is really not understanding what true-dark poetry is.

I wish you light and I wish you hope you are going through allot. Poetry comes from passion and feeling so I wish you better if you are feeling down.

    All the best,
    Dosed.
