Shade's Of Gray

I spent most of the day trying to interpret
Your strange shade of gray

We see one thing
Say another
Feel one delight
Then shone another

Linger upon a tender moment
Then ignore the obvious

Like a puzzle with missing pieces
Wishing for nothing more than for it to solve itself
Winding and twisting keeping thoughts to ourselves

Such beautiful mystery in this shade of gray
Perhaps simple ignorance
When opportunity has been misplaced

I'm to spend the night lost
Within my own thoughts
And my contributions to this shade of gray
Trying to interpret

Of so many things
I obviously missed

Lingering along
Falling into the cover of night
Puzzled by these shade's of gray

I like the direction you went with this. It gives off feelings I can identify with. So much in relationships falls into that gray space....and you
start to question if anything was ever black or white.
You seem to give a small voice to the saying
"ignorance is bliss" while you still puzzle over
reasons why things have become like this. Blue

You are so very right..Ignorance can be bliss and yes I still question much of life and of its silly little twist..
I often tend to protect my thoughts, looking back on this write I question doing that..I wish things could be black and white for me..somehow allowing in those shades of gray offers me the comfort of not saying everything that I would like to say..
Perhaps thats wrong..Im just not sure..smiles
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment..
      Peace and love

    universal truth

I could be way off on this but this poem made me think of how often people overlook what is staring them in the face because they are over-analyzing, jumping to conclusions, or focusing on the most minute detail..sometimes we just have to take a good step back to get the full picture.. dwelling on one thing, obsessing over it can haunt the mind..

    My goodness

Such heart wrenching and beautiful words within this verse filled with human truths. These shades of gray that wander in and land, move restless in our push for wants and shimmer in held dreams without being heard.
I am moved very much by this verse.
    A pleasure. ~Pamela

Such a truth, we do tend to pick and chose. Very good write.

    truely interpetive

much of most people are gray
like someone sucked the live out of them
better to check them for blood
if none - leave a drop of yours
    maybe by perchance
it can morf into a life they never knew
but then you would be the parent and
would you want to take the responcibility?

i like that the words never commit, they dance around the outside of so many things - just like a shade of grey - not white or black.

    Wow,

This just seems like it's penned for a certain someone, not sure, but nonetheless, this is truly amazing. The way you inscribed this from within, is brilliant.. Wonderful job, and theme.. Love the works of you, always do. Much love, Timothy~
