I wish there was something I could say or do
To take all of this hurt and pain away for you
I know it feels like it will never end
I want you to know your heart will mend
I know right now it's hard to understand why
Why he had to leave, he had to say good-bye
You're feeling that your world is falling apart
But remember he loved you with all of his heart
His parting has left such a void in your life
He's in heaven now with your mother, his wife
Together they're watching over you from above
And they're sending to you all of their love
I know that he wouldn't want you to be sad
So remember all of the good times you both had
Even though his time on earth has come to an end
He'll always be your Daddy, your Best friend

Very well written, sentiments well expressed in these lines too. Liked the rhythm, rhyme, and flow to this poem. Such a sad time when one loses a parent, and now that both are gone, it is especially tough.

Thank you for reading this poem. My friend had lost her mother and father within eight months of each other. It was a hard thing for her to go throught too lose both in such a short time

Thank you Mike for reading. Sometime it is easier to write what i feel and when I gave her this poem it made her smile. I just wanted her to know that she wasn't alone. That they would always be there watching over her.

I am always a little envious no, alot envious of father/daughter relationships because mine never stuck around. But this is probably such a blessing to your friend and you presented it in such a loving way. You are truly a friend when a friend was needed and the blessing will return a hundred fold!!!
