I know you think no one knows what you are going through,
and that you are locked alone in the dark without hope
but friendship is a balm that can sooth and ease pain
and an ear that is willing to silently listen to you
without offering advise or judging what you say or feel
or telling you how much time you are allowed, and be normal.
No time lines, No nosy questions you are not ready to answer.
I am here. Beside you, a pace or two away, waiting until your ready.
And when you are, I'll step closer, within arms reach, of you.
and I will be your anchor. Stability in your world of chaos.
Until the swirling stops and the pain eases enough to see
that I am there and you are ready to start talking to me.
I don't care that you may not make a lot of sense a first.
They are the words you need to send forth, clearing the way,
to your heart where your are curled up, waiting for me to find you,
and remind you, you will never be alone, because I am here.

To have a friend be a friend perfectly done. All truth in a wonderful piece of art. Thank you for entering into my contest and best wishes.

I don't know who this is for, but I hope they'll see it. This moves me and I'm sure whoever this is meant for will appreciate you a lot. I like the anchor metaphor and how you express being there for someone. Thanks for your entry.

Oh... this is really, really pretty. The tone of the poem is calm, like you're trying to soothe someone who's freaking out. Nice.
