We Are the Mirror

We are the reigns
Which pull on the mouth of a riderless bull.
We are the voices saying ‘Stop!’
We are the eyes which see the killing
And the pain.
We are the heart,
The soul,
And the conscience.
We recognise hypocrisy,
And we know that humanity
Is only semi-civilised at best.

We mourn that such a beautiful planet;
Sapphire blue and emerald green,
Should be put into the hands of such
A young and volatile race.
We are the mirror:
We reflect society.
We are the writers, the musicians
And the artists.

Wow, I loved this. Its so deep and had me totally captivated throughout the poem wanting to know who was behind the mirror. You have written this so well and the ending was great. Lovely write, and totally enjoyable to read.
