Bent over the loom,
her fragile frame belied
an inner resolve borne of deprivation.
As careworn fingers passed the shuttle,
threads of magical stories,
woven by decades of brave women,
were interlaced with virgin cloth .
She spun optimism of every color
and, dressed in her promises,
I was a princess.

"She spun optimism of every color

This is my favorite part of this touching poem. I like the brevity and plain spoken praise and underlying thankfulness that finds expression in it.
Lovely tribute poem.
