surrounds a chilled soul.
Accepted, for all I'm worth,
to feel complete and whole.
No bright lights to be seen,
just blankets of pure white.
Serenity to be found here
like stars within the night.
Every move, voice, and sight
all familiar they do seem.
Where open arms embrace me
though they remain unseen.
The chill escapes my memory,
liquid heat envelops the core.
And I know down deep inside,
this place is different from before.
Though my mind keeps saying
that I should really go,
my heart takes in the comfort
that I've wished to always know.
I've found no fears within
this heavenly new home.
The airy feeling gently lifts
to rest upon His stone.
Pureness of all purity
etched in every crease.
It is the one and only time
all life's burdens truly ceased.
Author notes
May not be what you are seeking for this contest, but it's my personal take of heaven.
After a severe accident, when medics arrived on the scene, I was pronounced dead- time frame unknown. To this day, I remember experiences that took place in this time frame that would be unexplainable to most of the human race, believers or not. I believe I found my glance into the heavenly home. It is the one time in my existance where everything felt free, without burden, and completely accepted. Unknowing of where I was, the only thoughts I rapidly recall was the fact that I did not wish to return from this place at this time, and found myself actually upset when revived by medics. Today I am grateful, but I miss the lack of openess and peace I endured that night.

If one believed in heaven/after life that it has to be you. What comfort you must feel to know that in the end you will return to that place where you found such peace. An excellent piece Good luck in the contest

Welcomed and embraced!
A remarkable experience. I appreciate that you would share this and hope you felt comfortable in doing so. Many would not and so 'edit' their own experience.
You have brought a lot of experiences others have shared or not to mind, including my father who 'woke up' on a cold mortuary table. He never spoke of it but you have given me a glimpse.
Your write shares the blanketing security, warmth and comfort of that place. Beyond this mortal sphere "this place is different from before". A 'solid' safety beyond harm.
I appreciate the line which speaks of acceptance causing you to feel "complete and whole". I have heard it takes considerable exertion as you mentioned to leave.
Thank you for being willing to share this account. It is good for me to hear it and I am sure others will feel that way also. with sincere appreciation. Jadon

A beautiful sought after description, Autumn. I too have wondered many times what Heaven would look and feel like. My imagination only took it as far as I have read about. Your descition tells it as it should be thought of. Thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest.
