Alone I sail on these ocean waves,
incarnadine skies hang overhead,
the last remnants of the days dying sun.
Gentle waves lapping at the
aged and peeling paint upon my bow.
The name "ocean nymph"
once proudly emblazoned on my side
has now faded from a brilliant red
to dull shades of chocolate brown.
Flaking off piece by piece
as opaque waves beat upon my sides,
like a clock, steadily ticking away
my last remaining days,
slowly winding down and frosting over.
While off on the distant shore,
Stands my most revered companion.
Her white tower standing proud,
brilliant light shinning through her Fresnel lens,
guiding me home with each revolution.
She keeps me safe, guides my way,
and lets me know I am never alone.
