You may be lost alone
Starving and defeated
The world at your throat
And your hope long since lost
In that hour
Of final desperation
When your set to the idea
That all ideas are hopeless
Action is your tool
Violence your voice
In that moment
Just before you go on a spree
Or prepare your final end
Take a step back
Look up and take hold
Of the million hands
Reaching to rescue you
Accept the gifts
Of those more fortunate
Charity is not to emasculate
Nor a guest at the head of your table
Instead a helpful push
In the right direction
A hand to get you to your feet
Food to keep you alive
Keep your head up
Today you are in need
Today you shall have
If only you ask.
