This grandpa welcomes the inherited blessings
forever changing the way of life but, not the outlook.
Passing down wisdom through knowledge,
by love obtained.

A new life to the world in my arms at last,
waiting much time for this moment.
Fragile and precious, this family jewel,
sparkling in my eyes.

For your breath of life I am thankful.
Your life brings me joy.
I have cherished our moments together.
A learning experience for us both.

I've done my best to do my part,
spoiling you every chance I've had.
A kind strong hand I've tried to be,
straight with broad shoulders.

Supporting the choices you've made,
they were yours to make.
Yes, occasionally you would ask what I thought,
then, I would tell you.

I usually knew ahead of time,
of trouble on the horizon.
Dilemma's can drive parents into a frenzy,
making them sound like total idiot's.

I thank God for the good life I've had,
I ask you all do the same.
I know sometimes it's hard to believe.
Have faith for God never leaves.

I will leave traces of my presence before I go,
signs of my love, to let you know.
You need not sight to see,
you are blessed with serendipity.
