I wasn't wearing greener dress,
neither were you,
we were wearing less,
as meadow blushed morning's smile
in more than eyes,
not quite expecting,
green to glow
in golden shimmer,
when night was gone
inside our glimmer of dance,
as touch in bag to roll
romance.
Camping high in Rocky Mountains,
where sky goes on
to find in sigh
such lover's rumble in thunder under,
and what is God in splashing fountains,
of wetter wild to blow while peaking,
our quivered soul
of softer,
seeking
all things known in Nature's way.
Higher than the clouds to billow,
we live in fragrant,
feathered pillow,
as thought lost, and found in Summer weather,
and simple gift of two together.

A beautiful entry...
Congrats on your bronze
Love, Lane -
there are two stanzas that
really stick out to me... they are:
"as meadow blushed morning's smile
in more than eyes,"
&
"we live in fragrant,
feathered pillow,"
what a unique and lovely look at the world....
beautiful!

Love this!...thank you for your entry

Loved the images, and the rhyme. Flowed really well. You never cease to amaze me. Stellar poem.
And best of luck in the contest you entered.

What is better or more beautiful to enjoy love in the presence of nature. Loved the way you interpreted the contest theme here...a poem that is soulful, yet so very romantic too. Lovely poetry.

Sighhh...Ahhh, to go camping again, let alone in the Rockies...However, I would be cautious where I staked my tent...much like Chez, I fear I would be intruding on your infinite space, my Friend...Although Colorado IS kinda big...
Beautifully penned, Scribe...Good luck in the contest, Sweetie...

Your quill is softly feathered this morning, and drifting Northwest in a heart smile. The blush of dawn has not yet touched the Oregon coast, but there is a lovely glow emanating from CO.

This paints a magnificent image in my mind but I fear I am peeking on privacy
