my mother,
so sweet
like the honeysuckles we ate
the disease that ate her
so dark
like the night with out stars
i am sure that the medicine didn't work
or someone took it from her
lithium
such a powerful drug
they call it suicidal to refuse the drug.
she never got it.
it was such a journey.
with out it.
she was bound to herself
and thoughts thrusted inside her
too fast
i heard her crying
screaming in her room
with no ways of escaping
no ways of communication
it was mental rape
with out it.
it is mental rape
with out her.

This one is my favorite so far!!
My first impression was the sadness of your mother needing lithium to mentally survive. It is a tragedy for the mind to shatter. It holds who we are. I am so sorry to hear about your loss and the violent details surrounding her death.
I feel that you were so deep in rememberance and love as well as anger, as you wrote this poem. Full blown emotion flowing through a pen creates the best poetry.
Awesome job!!

LOVE IT
Now this is an exceptional write about a truly heinous and sorrowful topic. I am first of all, very sorry for your loss. I personally know the loss of a parent from experience and cannot offer you words powerful enough to bring you comfort, only understanding from a kindred soul.
The background and colors were well chosen to coincide with the theme of the piece and the title is positively deep, personal, violating and primal, like suicide itself.
