A dove quietly flying away
The leaves rustling in the trees
A life of freedom for you and me
Peace is the love of mother and child
Always sweet and forever mild
A time in which we all seek
An eternity of harmony
Peace is a child fast asleep
After counting jumping sheep
Joy, laughter and pure glee
The calmness found within the sea
Peace is like an everlasting dream
Where no-one yells and makes a scene
Never giving up on it willingly
People praying purposefully
Author notes
This is a poem I'd completely forgot I'd written. I suppose, judging by the fact that I'd forgotten it, and the various linguistic errors, that I must have written it when I was 11 or 12.
I've also posted the revised version, "Peace". It sounds better and is free of grammatical/spelling mistakes, but what it doesn't have is the heart-felt sadness of the original. I say that about my own work, in this case, because reading something I'd written as a child that so obviously suggests domestic discontent is like reading the work of another person.
Anyway, I thought it'd be explanatory of the semi-childishness of the revised version.
Please tell me what you think

I think this is about the peace loving person you are and that you may be agood listener and on top of that a very caring person. To write peace like this may be is because you've not had too much yourself, very much enjoyed. Titus
