With such ease you tore down my wall.
It only took a flash of your smile
And a glance of your star struck eyes.
But slowly, I’ll rebuild it.
I may not be everything you could ever ask for.
I know I have my faults,
But I’ll take you for everything
If you take me for who I am.
Every time I glance at you,
My world seems to stop.
Nothing else seems to matter,
When I'm staring into your emerald eyes.
I’ll be here patiently waiting,
for that chance to be more than a friend.
Just to be able to say goodnight sweetheart to you at night,
while I hold you in my arms.
Author notes
This poem is for someone special to me. I've fallen for her, but she only sees me as just a friend. This was actually hard for me to write because there was so much to be said, but I couldn't think of really what to say. With that said, I'd like to thank Your Guardian Angel for helping me out.
Please tell me what you think

Anyways. Yeah. Im sorry that she onyl sees you as a friend, and I hope it all works out for you. Id offer more words, but I"m not in that situation, but rather....the complete opposite.
But nonetheless, I will be here for you, through thick and thin. Just give a holler anytime you need me.

it's very touching, but i think if you want to let someone know they're special (and moreover, write a fresh and original poem about it), you have to take a bit of gritty reality into the equation, even if its something simple, like accepting that eyes arent emerald, but a mixture of tones, maybe some duller than others, or how you overlook something she does because of a weakness in yourself. read Shakespeare's Sonnet number 130 (just type it into google) to see what i mean--how much more real this is than petrachan perfection. All that said, i love your first line. good luck! i hope she love it ;-)
