Ever grasping for air and yet suffocating
Knowledge of redeeming yet failing to complete.
And mostly… Waiting… Just painfully waiting…. And yet nothing.
“The truth is better than the lie.”- She whispered.
And yet he stood there; Unspoken, unaware of this situation… Broken.
She stood up and walked away, just walked and walked until the sound,
The bellowing sound of the red high heels was faded and only a stumbling silence stood.
He stood there, frozen. Fell down and only in his mind remain this one thought.
“I’m going down. Please stop me. I…I…Love….You.”
His behind fell on the grey-concrete stair; not one peep came from his lips, not one.
He noticed on the floor, a letter with the four-letter word everyone seems to “love”.
Opening the letter, walking sounds began to proceed. So silent yet faster than before.
On that one letter, he began to read; pressure on his face was seen, his hands shaking,
Lips quavering, heart beating uncertainly, voice; gone. It fell… and in this small yet echoing stairway, the sound of the paper, flying as it were to be screaming, it sounded.
“No more.”-He whispered. Retraced two steps, and again he sat on the cold concrete stair.
Waiting….Just waiting.
She arrived. Her face out of expression, confused, scared. Not alone accompanied.
His face down, tears falling, blood heating, heart beating.
One hour. Waiting. She stopped smiling. Her companion laughed harder.
Hands shaking. Hyperventilating. Stopped.
Complete silence.
He is still sitting, she’s now alone. A sudden thud.
(Thud) Companion’s dead.
Heart throttling. Head dizzying. Tears and screams augmented.
A gun on his hand, (Boom) she’s dead.
Her last agonizing thought: “I’m going down! He shot me with a gun.”
And the most gasping death. His own. Falling through the hole of the stairway.
(Thud) Goodbye. The letter said; “I found my true love. And it is just until death do us part.”-Emily
