I have never left you
I have never gone away,
I am with you
In the morning
And the dying
Of the day,
Like a whisper
From a father
As he strokes
His daughter’s hair,
With their sleepy
Eyes reflecting
All the hopes and dreams
They share.
I have never left you
I will never say goodbye,
I will hold you
While you’re sleeping
And I’ll kiss you
When you cry,
Like a flower
From a garden
In the gentle
Morning rain,
As it opens wide
It’s petals
To the summer sky
Again.
I have never left you
Since the day that we first met,
I will keep you
Deep inside me,
Till the sun
Has slowly set,
Like a quiet song
That echoes
Through a slightly
Open door,
With a melody
To tell you
We are friends
For ever more…

This is absolutely gorgeous and soulful. Within the profoundness of love described in this poem, no one will consider eternity is long enough.
