My words matter in ways that I do not
traveling to places not permitted to me;
engaged in arguments and moments
not imagined; creatures of pen and paper.
Touching quiet and tender wishes
when thought is the purpose of life,
understanding not clouded by eyes.
As I breathe them to life, a song of birth full blown;
rising from the foamy surf of imagination,
creation in six bars, a rest on the seventh.
So this part of me departs into a journey
to the unsuspecting, a visitation of wise words;
always following a light in the eye.
Making gifts, kneeling to the celebration of existence,
seeking always for a reflection of rising hope.
By thought and creation, words become deeds,
unfailing measures of the life we choose;
and the currency of pretension loses face value,
hidden; it's like what you wear, beneath your nudity.

A very well wise pem on hidden identities. You are such a clever poet and i loove your work. You should have been a surgeon. There is nobody like you who can write such of commitment and freedom.

awesome write my fav stanza is:
My words matter in ways that I do not
traveling to places not permitted to me;
engaged in arguments and moments
not imagined; creatures of pen and paper.
Very telling and emotional its great congrats -
You brilliantly describe the power of words. We often speak and write words with no thought as to how they will be received or where they will ultimately find their way.
"My words matter in ways that I do not
traveling to places not permitted to me;
engaged in arguments and moments
not imagined."
Words have immense power. They speak of who we are ... and what we think of others, whether intended or not. We should use them wisely. Best of luck in the contest!

Excellent Write
This poem speaks volumes, the knowledge share is vast. I too feel the pen can be more powerful then man; because we read. we can explore and write about the unknown. The last verse is my favorite. "words becoming deeds" My father once spoke at church and said, "Man speaks as a man does; watch carefully the words coming out of your mouth." So we have the power of choice; a far better rock to stand on then paper & coins................novy
