Can’t get out and can’t go back,
I pulled myself up to this reclusion,
Intent on leaving the gene pool,
The charm lost its luster,
But I see the dividing wall is tall to scale,
So much in me has changed, died, been left behind,
I shed all worldly possessions to make this ascent,
It’s not as easy as ‘diving back in’,
When being in want no longer,
It’s not the isolation that haunts me,
It’s the re-submersion

Wow.
I really like the last two lines. This sounds a bit depressing and yet desperate like someone is just trying to get away from everything in their reality. <3333 I love it.

I really enjoyed the vocabulary you have used in this piece. It really brings out the better half of it. You have done a great job and good luck in the contest!

I love how this poem is like an epiphany you had and decided to share with others. You worded it very well and I think it really causes the reader to stop and consider how it applies to their own lives. Wonderful job :] Thank you for entering, and best of talent in the contest!
