Sliver No. 3

Suddenly I sense light spilling
  Into a dark abyss:
I pass over it, trembling,
And make believe that I'm dancing.

And it chuckles in its sleep.

..and Nietzsche reminds me of Little Miss Sunshine.
I really liked this, and would like to see the rest of the notebook. Maybe it all fits together.

This is extremely profound, despite that it's so short. And it's open to interpretation; I also thought it had to do with death, and to be honest, the words and the idea are beautifully conveyed.

...kind of reminds me of Nietzsche, too.

Yes, well I have read a fair bit of Nietzsche, I was obsessed with him when I was younger.
"When you gaze into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you."

      Thanks for your kind comment.

    Superb/unique/challenging

If the "dark abyss" is death, this one is most compelling, however, I sense their could be other interpretations, more profound.
