Theivery

Fisherman by the sea
sails in a boat painted red
and casts his net out for dreams
always searching,
always wandering,
looking for what he cannot find.
A thief wants what he cannot have
a gypsy queen once said to me
which means, love, we are all thieves.

I stand on the beach on fragments of
shattered shells
holding a green glass bottle in my
left hand.
In it are words made of ink and imagination,
and my hands are stained black
like the ocean in a storm.
Toss green glass bottle
into the sea
leave the waves to devour it
with sticky fingers
and maybe it will wind its way to you.

Fisherman by the sea
sails in a boat painted red
and casts his net out for dreams.
Instead, he catches a bottle
made of green glass.
Inside are the words of
ink and
imagination.

Theives want what they cannot have,
so therefore,
I am a theif.

I don't know what to say about this poem.

I liked it. You have a mature voice, but repetition didn't work for me. It really took away from the meaning.

There's lots of good things about this poem, but I'm sorry to say that it will not win the contest, so i'm going to remove it. No hard feelings.
