Common Bonds

I watch this man I married repeat his daily tasks,
the things he does are his own no-one ever asks.
He drives up the driveway and goes in the garage,
gets out the bird-seed, as I watch the bird barrage.

He fills each bird feeder, he buys more every year,
birds flock around him, as he smiles from ear to ear.
He turns on the hose and freshens the bird bath too,
soon appear fluttering butterflies in colorful hue.

Our great love of nature is our most common bond,
we both love this old earth and of wildlife are fond.
Work together as a team to brighten each others lives,
simple pleasures shared, help our happiness survive.

Hand and hand we walked through all this time together,
silver linings exist we came through stormy weather.
In bed at night we cuddle up together like a spoon,
In unison we turn in the night we are so in tune.

He's still awestruck when my roses are in full bloom,
loves me for growing herbs, loves the sweet perfume.
Each day I am thankful for my husband, he’s my life,
no where will you ever find a more grateful wife.

I hope you do too! I wasn't looking for him when he first showed up, but I am sure glad I made the right decision. I had one stinkweed marriage too! Teaches you to be more careful next time and then when you do meet him you JUST know!
Thank you for your kind comments and good luck with your contest.

What a lovely picture of marital happiness you paint here. It's the everyday kindness, the small stuff that is so important.

I love how you turn common words into extraordinary moments. To share with the reader. Nor do you take it for granted.I wish me and my husband shared as much as you do with yours. I love nature it calms me. My husband cut down my flower garden. Now I got to go out and rescue my herb garden. It taken a toll this year.
I have not been able to do it. I have had some health issues. My husband stays strong to help me though them.
He stays is life is not boring anymore. I do appreciate him too. This is a wonderful write. Thanks for your kind and wonderful comments.
