She Never Sleeps

She never sleeps.
She lets her mind drift away,
away from it all.

She tries to stop,
but she can not.
she's overwhelmed
with feelings that she wished she never had.
"Please, just go away," she begs.
But they just stay put,
not wanting to leave,
not wanting her to be free.

She never sleeps.
She's never awake.
She's never fully here.
She just glides from one day to the next,
never knowing where she'll go next.

She keeps on pledding,
never giving up.
She tries and she tries,
but she never gives up; even when she fails.
She keeps trying. She keeps falling
deeper.. and
    Deeper.

She never sleeps,
she always prays.
She's a good little girl,
like she's suppose to.
She does everything right,
and nobody knows her wrongs.

She never gives up.
"I'll get better," she promises herself,
hoping that she can keep that promise.
"I have to, so I will be here for those who need me." She stops and thinks..
"Does anybody really need me though?" she just shakes her head,
half ashamed of what she just though.

She never sleeps,
she just laughs and giggles with her friends.
They're all crowded around her
all with smile on their faces.
She never mentions the wrongs,
she only speak of the rights.
Everything is very hush hush,
even though she's
    dying
to tell someone.

Never sleeps..
Never awake..
Never quite there..
Never really here..
She just moves in and out
as if she was a ghost.
She keeps quiet,
until her very last breath escaped her lips.
