Forgiveness

The silence in the room
becomes the voice not often heard.
The child inside her mind
to speak a soft forgotten word...

Too many concerns have burnt
an honored life away.
She can remember childhood
but has forgotten how to play.

The unknown has been lost
time passing by the clock,
her history and silence
guard a secret with a lock.

A blind girl's thoughts
recall a life of absolute regret.
Cursing choice, again a voice,
That word she still forgets.

Author notes

Forgiveness is a powerful thing - but if you can not forgive yourself, no one else can.

A very powerful write.... truly forgiveness starts for yourself. If you can't forgive and learn to love yourself how can anyone else? Life is filled with so many regrets but it's in learning from our mistakes and getting up every time we fall that makes us strong. This is a great poem, thanks for sharing.

A very powerful poem you have written here, radiating a strong message within the words
It's indeed very hard to be forgiven if you can't forgive yourself in the first place.

Well done - Keep it up!
