In God We Trust

What is trust and how is it measured?
In the act of trusting is a great treasure

Nations past to present have enjoyed their leisure
When on God their backs turned, descended a seizure

As babies we grew bit-by-bit, learning to trust
With our evolving realizations, sometimes we must

Insecurities blazed and hopes are razed
Contrasted with trust in God, who deserves all praise

Relying on people has its' limits
By depending on God we can ascend great summits

What appears obvious to one, eludes another
Deluded by false independence, like a 'wooden brother'

A 'how-to' plan might seem beneath most
Actually doing it merits a toast

In a list

Please tell me what you think

I would like to add: ...and ingratitude and impatience to a list (as such) of big enemies. Thank you very much for your comments here.

Your rhymes are so fresh and non generic.. It really is wonderful to read your work. I enjoy each piece and it is truly hard to read a work of yours without a smile on my face, dear poet.. Wonderfully talented, why aren't you doing this for a living? I am sure you are entirely satisfied with it for what it is, but you could make a killing with this kind of talent.. I could only hope to be this creative and talented..

GIRL...you are single-handedly 'killing me' softly...lol. With your one-of-a-kind commentaries. You ARE making a killing (lol). I think I can 'hawk' these comments on eBay...lol. Thank you so, so much. I feel so refreshed by these kind words of yours. And I am slowly tranforming my line (lol) of work to this. I'm learning patience a little at a time. And I've read your work...you seem to been 'there' (creative/talented) for a while...

Don't know why but this part really stuck out with me.
"Relying on people has its' limits

    Peace to you, Jet.

I believe faith and trust are probably the most fragile things one can hold. To place oneself in the hands of another human or God is true strength.

    well

I can understand where you are comming from in the time of secular regeneration and that fact that God takes second place in many ways

How about that, huh? Thanks very much for the feedback. And mostly, thanks for taking time from your life to read something I wrote.

The reality of this poem, is great. I don't really like the line of "Insecurities blazed and hopes are razed." I think you should change either blazed or razed .. Keep writting!

Thanks for taking out your time to read this piece. I was going for a 'double-hitter' with the line above (that you don't care for). You know, a little extra for contrast...but maybe I'll revise? I'm not sure yet. I apprectiate your positive feedback. I'll visit your site as soon as I can. Thanks again.

Hey, thanks a lot. I've seen you're name a lot on my brohter's site ("swangrnv"). I'll visit it soon. And thanks a million. This was a different type of write for me. I almost didn't even post it but swangrnv and my other brother ("wisewithwordz") encouraged me to. So, here it is. I like your comments about God guiding your path. Your feedback was so generous. I look forward to reading your work.

Although it is hard sometimes to let God do what He does best, I am glad that He is ultimately in control. I can't possibly imagine trying to handle life on my own. I love this piece, it is very inspirational.

      Wow!

I am really moved by your kind words. It's kind of strange hearing from someone you don't know, knowing that you have (without actually being aware of it while it's happening) presented or done something of value to others. It was what was on my mind and so I put it on paper (and then this site). I'm honored that you love it. I hope to do something even better than this. And I hope I'll hear from you then too. Thank you very much.

    So True !!

Sometimes we try to take matters in our own hands and when we do, it usually makes the situation worse. If we can just trust God and let Him work it out everything will turn out fine. I relly enjoyed this piece. It is very inspirational.

      Thanks. Thanks...

Funny though, it's me who feels inspired by what you said. We often go through so many up's and down's that sometimes we tell which way is up (lol). Really, life is a constant time of give and take (I hope to be someone who gives more than I take). And I honestly want to learn to show gratitude to God and learn to trust Him more. So, this was what was going on for me when I wrote this piece that you enjoyed. Thank you for responding to it. It means a lot to me.

...Hooked, huh? Spoken like a true 'fisher of men' (lol). Thanks. That's really inspiring for you to say this. I have been off the 'air' for a bit gathering my thoughts. Then, I thought it was time to submit something and see what people think. I appreciate your comments.
