Cloudy

Perhaps it was a construction--
aloof as it was,
proudly stretched across my horizon—
Maybe it was a passing fancy,
a darting butterfly in my lazy mind,
but on those lumpy hills,
I thought I saw my beacon,
and when I looked a little longer
I realized the absurdity of it all.

Obscured in gray, the thin lines
stretched fragilely into my imagination.
It seemed to hover in midair,
suspended upon gravity,
and when I looked a little farther
it dawned on me that perhaps the tower
was just another obstacle.

And suddenly, it was clear.

    Unique and wonderful!
    I loved the lines:

"Maybe it was a passing fancy,
a darting butterfly in my lazy mind,"
