The rain is pelting hard and fast
the knight is hoping it will last
for then he will not have to fight
to chase the terror of the night
he shivers in his battered gear
trying to supress his fear
his sword is ready and holds it high
he was going to fight, he was going to die
and he knew it
the sodden ground made matters worse
he bit his lip in muttered curse
thunder struck that shook the earth
gave the timid knight an untimely birth
the knight so scared forgot the mud
and ran so fast, he dropped sword with an almighty thud
the dragon laughed and gave up chase
he just wanted to see the knights frightened face.
and he saw it.

this was fun but weird and fairy like i thought it was very funny the way you have twisted the brave knight in to a coward and the evil dragon into the heroic figure for scaring the knight away. totally loved it.

Yes, indeed, there will always be those who just can not face death and overcome their fear of it. I do not condemn those, for I was once of the same ilk. Good luck in the contest.
