Pinks And Purples

Pinks and purples all aglow

Are just the beginning to your rainbow

See you really are the colourful queen

Who sprinkles down evergreen

 

Whenever a rainbow comes to sight

Memories I hold close and tight

I cannot forget your presence or grace

I miss your bubbly happy face

 

To us you were nothing but a star

Our beautiful rainbow warrior

What a wonderful pagan name to hold

The cancer should've left you well alone

 

But you was taken away from us

In a life of answers there was no because

You was here one day, gone the next

The cancer laid you down to rest

 

Jude aka rainbow warrior aka friend

One-day we will meet again

But until that day shines on through

Each rainbow here is to remind me of you

The picture above was taken at Avebury (England) where Judes ashes were scattered. Though her ashes were scattered on winter solstice this picture was taken on summer solstice when her daughter was there!

    I think this poem is very beautiful. I think it would be beautiful even if it didn't rhyme. The thing is, this poem had such a deep meaning that it just touches you no matter what. I like the picture, very pretty. I'm sorry about your friend. Why did you nickname him Rainbow Warrior?

    good rhyming and structure.
    lovely atmosphere of colour and eternal friendly tribute.
    and clearly projected imagery.

    your words stir beautiful memories in my mind.
    most nice people have a special feeling for rainbows.

    Absolutely beautiful...you have expressed your emotions wonderfully here. Just one thing: in line 12 ("To us you was nothing but a star") I think you meant "To us you were nothing but a star". Amazing write, keep up the awesome work.
