There was a distant rumble
As the winds began to grow
And paper began to fly
I knew you were coming for me
I battoned down the windows
And packed away what could be thrown
Bareness entering my home
As the light darkened
I cowered under a table
As this tornado hit
The glass came flying in
I trembled to your roar
I once trusted the sunshine
But now I see how quickly it can change
And I once trusted my home
I see how vulnerable it was
When the tornado had left
The sun breaking through the clouds
I walked down the road of devastation
Toward a new beginning

I don't know what happened to my comment!
This was very good. It is a great metaphor for life as well. Great job. Thank you for entering and good luck.

Nice poem. I liked it. It must of been one hell of a tornado. I hate them things.
