it hangs in an alcove,
somehow
out of place
with what I know of her
so far,
so formal
so much the little girl,
on her way to an Easter parade,
but I have something else in mind,
something more sinister,
more playful,
and that hat
hanging in the dark
has made it start
banging in my head
like a gong
in a windstorm
and I cannot make it go away
not that I want to,
since I am another sweet candy
desiring to be ate
left lonely on an open shelf
finding other ways to rape
since it seems
I'm somewhat stale
and forgotten,
Like that hat perhaps.

Like the red bonnet
I am only an idea
hanging off to the side,
another ornament on the wall
when there's a party,
or if someone else
was getting married
and she was desperate
for a different look,
there's that thought
again
my wild eyes
churning at the sight
as she turns in the dim light
the hat slightly askew.
I think she'd moan,
but probably not for me,
since I'm only an idea
roaming in her night
already complicated
by the rumblings in her walls
and the endless eyes of her days.
III
I've a confession to make.
I desire her.
but so do others
walking in her restless mind,
I cannot be content
but I can be resigned
like the hat,
waiting for a better time
when there is no anger
in her eyes
and there is
somewhere sweet
she'd like to go,
and if it were me she found
on the merry go round
I'd go
and get the hat down
and smile.

aww, I like this one. It is sweet, and slightly off topic, but fitting all the same. The use of metaphor and character development are also very good. Awesome, good luck

wow this is really good. Um i will say wow again! This was a bti confusing at first to me but then when i started reading it all i was like totally taken in by it. It like takes you to a different place when you read it. I think my stomach had butterflies in it, I love the way you write. It's Beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing! Good luck
