Black and white rainbow in technicolor dreams

Somewhere over the rainbow
Or at least that’s what they had said
Raped by Technicolor dreams
This rainbow’s now left my head
Childhood memories lost
All my loved ones, to me now dead

Bluebirds flew over that rainbow
Or at least that’s what I’m told
But those dreams stole its luster
Making it black, white, and cold
Loosing inspiration in my all but colorful dreams
And hunny this loss is making me old

That rainbow and those bluebirds were in a lullaby
Or at least that’s what I heard
But from the recent rubbings’
You’d think that statement’s absurd
Only with a child’s imagination
Can this inverted tragedy be cured

I like where you took this title, the allusion to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" worked well I think. The only real criticism I have is that some of the rhymes sound a little forced, or at least a little awkward.

Thank you for entering and good luck.

I love it..it has nice flow..i like how you described what was lost....it's like life..everything is sugar coated ..but you know it's fake and you know how to put it into true, meaningful words
