The Path of Destiny.

.

A flag stoned path is in bleak reality,
an image of life we call destiny.

Meandering up and down, day and night,
spacious or narrow left or right.

Only God knows where it will finally end,
on a straight, a corner or a bend.

All events that happen, were once destiny,
what was not and what was to be.

We can’t control the direction, in which it goes,
any more than where the wind blows.

Influence can not be forced or feigned in part,
accept your destiny with humble heart.

And when your time you know has finally come,
smile with grace as you succumb.

So follow the Bible and live a good honest life,
so parting will be simple, not full of strife.

    Very Inspirational

but my preacher friend would say -"straight is the path and narrow the way " - I believe we have free choice and can find our way "home' where ever we are.
    Excellent verbage andwords of wisdom.

It means that if you follow the ten commandments that when it is time to die, you will do so without regret, but if you haven't ............................... It could be too late ..

Your last couplet here gives the best advice that I've seen on this site in a long while... we need to follow the bible in our life... a nice poem, I like the rhyme and the flow.

You have a very unique way to write which is highly pleasurable I love your spiritual poetry very down to earth and easy to comprehend. Destiny is such an appealing theme but makes the world a wonderful place to life. I find destiny snuggles the workings of the entire universe and as you said in these wise lines-
Only God knows where it will finally end,
on a straight, a corner or a bend.
And let God! I find great comfort in this and His plans.

    very good

i was drawn by the title
    i like the imagery
a flag stoned path, left or right, a bend, straight, etc
a sort of one foot in front of the other
theinspiration from this piece is incredible
not by just the words but
    taking everything into context
    and
    your pic
    this is you
    you live this way
    you were raised this way
you have a wonderful family and parents
the wisdom, the ingeniuosness of it is
you are the one who lives life to the fullest
    each and everyday
    not, so to speak
    "good girls go to heaven,
    bad girls go everywhere" type
who place a value on money, material possessions, children, grandchildren who only "love" their mother, grandmother for what she can give them

    Brilliant !

You have penned a very good, thought inspiring write here. We all have our own hurdles to get over in life, but in the end, it comes down to being comfortable with how we've lived our life . Well done indeed. An awesome write.

    Stunning Piece....

Stunning piece Bro. Brings home the reality that we are here but once, and our chosen path is created by our own footsteps. A very spiritually embodied write that should fair well in the contest, best of luck.
