There was a little girl
Who when she combed her curls
Would stand them all on end
And for awhile she would pretend
She gave each curl a name
They all were different, none the same
They’d laugh a lot and dance and sing
While this little girl did her thing
She’d smile at the funny girl
Who in her mirror would give a twirl
To each and every dark tress
Until they were all quite a mess
Soon they all looked very plain
So she’d try to make them curl again
But they were tired and fell away
Saying they’d be back another day
Sure enough the day came when
They came to make Kiarna happy again
Now she knows that no matter what
Happiness comes to make us laugh a lot

This is sooo cute!
I like the picture, it goes with kiarna!
this is such a good poem, I smiled when I read it!
When I heard the rhyme I laughed, because I used to love mother goose- and I still do!
You are a great poet, thanks for gracing us with your talent!

Very, very delightful! I loved it!
I love the way you could help the reader see through the eyes of this precious little sunshine. I can picture her looking into her mirror, admiring each of her carefully placed curls and giving each one a special name. As she is talking sweetly to them, they respond in a gentle, happy giggle of their friendship with her!
The only thing I can see that could add to this wonderfully fun poem is maybe a little even rhythm or beat and equal number of syllables in each line, just like a song!
I'm a grandmother and I will love sharing this with my grandchildren!
If you (or anyone) would like for me to illustrate, by hand, your poems and/or stories, I would be more than happy to! Give me some ideas of how you would like to have them portrayed and the layout of the pages. I can use any medium and typography you feel will fit you stories. I can give some samples of my work, if you would like!
Happy writing and may your dreams come true!
