Yesterday death pressed on me
rubbed itself against my chest,
tounged my ear, engraved with spit
a sonnet reserved for those who rest.
Yesterday death called to me
ran sirens up my icy spine,
whisperd wind where air can't flow
till agony oozed in the form of whine.
Yesterday death school to me
what life could not announciate,
a lesson brief but gold in nature
a word life can't pronunciate.
Yesterday life filled with goodbyes
I had spoken every day to it's prior,
and I realised that my pain was caused
because until yesterday I was a liar.

Yes the mind if left alone without faith takes the leed one must give it purity and joy never let the mind sleep to think on its own .

mm the idea driving this is great but the rhyme let it down a bit i think... i'm not sure why.
"Yesterday death called to me
ran sirens up my icy spine,
whisperd wind where air can't flow"
love those 3 lines.
great imagery and good interpretation of the quote.

I really liked this. deep - dark - yet marvelous!
it expresses the quote so well - I like the last stanza, but liked it all as a whole.
great job and I wish you luck! -
A very insightful poem! So much pain and suffering until you finally realize what is causing you pain.
These two lines say so much!
I realised that my pain was caused
because until yesterday I was a liar.
A very good poem!
