Love costs everything.
Be prepared for the bill
when it comes due.
A single song cannot undue the pain,
and all the words in hell
won't free your heart.
Be patient with time,
it takes a while to roll around,
And when you look back
thru the roses
you'll see a rusty mail box
with a red flag up,
stuffed with notes gone bad.

Love does cost everything...it takes your whole heart and soul. You give it away, and sometimes it comes back broken and in need of healing. There is a chance it will be replaced by another heart and soul for you to love and protect.
THis is a wonderful piece.

Very nice
Very Nice but how true... Better to have loved and lost then to have never known what love is... thanks for sharing. Alia -
Sigh! Love---life----learned----oft late at times, but good learned nonetheless.
::Sighs deeply once more::

your simplicity here is wonderful and marks the piece as something to think on
i enjoy the bit of a riddle contained here, somehow, and also is there a hint of advice, of warning or somesuch?
very enjoyable and oddly grave -
Love the first line...and be prepared for the bill..hehe oh yeah love costs and you lose half in the trade-in.
I don't believe in the love is free and all things to all man..it is a hard and dangerous game to play that rewards and betrays at the very same time.
Always as always is - lovely.
