The fine lined
Green eyed woman
Gazes out to sea
Within those iris pools
That are portals to her past
Can be read a harrowing script
It tells of what drove her
To the wild and rugged coastline
To seek abode in the sandy caves
You would discover
The memories of a ruined life
Tales of being pushed from humanity
Of a soul unable to witness
Suffering forced on beings by others
Of the cruelty of mankind
The woman trails her finger in the sand
She draws a sign few comprehend
And smiles at the skies
She sees waste being washed away
By the cleansing tides
And drifts to sleep to awake to a new dawn

The imagery and emotinal aura are truly outstanding. You have done a great job bringing those things out for the reader to mull over and savor at a nice slow pace. Well done! Thank you for entering my contest and good luck!

Oh
But this is stunning. I love the second stanza so much and I can, even though our experiences probably differ so widely, relate to every word. Hey, green eyes.. high bloody strong five.. love the other green eyes.. message ends xx ps had to face something huge today and still alive - but it was only love - not life threatening....!! xx debs xx I'd applaud twice if it were possible but I've tried before and its not... have my bestx
