On My Roof (Ricameter)

Shadows
dancing on my
Roof, silhouettes of black
Tapping on the dusty shingles.
Softly, they pitter-patter; I see the
Outlines moving to night’s music.
I will join them at dusk,
Dancing with the
Shadows.

Author notes

my second ricameter. I also like to spell them Ricametre - the British spelling. I love British spelling

i'm trying to get my nieces to write poetry, but they're too lazy. this is amazing. half the poets on this site can't write this well.

I just found out your 12, you write amazing at an early age, i didn't start writing till I was 16 and even then not "good" writing until 22, lol. so this form too is amazing, for me I started off with free verse, then moved into rhyme a little, and dabbled a little with alliterations and pleadies. i really like this piece you have here, well written with great vocabulary, but more than that I can see the beauty in the words, and thats the goal of poetry, or at least one of them, awesome write, well done.                 - Jacen.

Very nice. I love it. I like how your description. It paints a very good picture as far as imagery.

If you don't mind my asking, what exactly is a Ricameter? I don't think I have ever heard of a Ricameter before.
